Back from Houston and Fueled by Purpose

What My Niece's Junior Olympics Journey Taught Me About Joy, Discipline, and Success

After a whirlwind week in Houston for the Junior Olympics, I’m back — feeling refreshed, inspired, and more grounded than ever. Sometimes, stepping away from the day-to-day grind of business to support family and simply witness greatness in motion is exactly what your soul needs.

I had the joy and honor of cheering on my niece, who made her Junior Olympics debut this year. What’s even more incredible? She’s only been running track for two years. 🙌🏾 But what moved me most wasn’t just the fact that she qualified for such a major competition — it was how she showed up. Her discipline, consistency, and most importantly, her love for the process are what got her there. She doesn’t just train — she enjoys it. She doesn’t just compete — she rises to the moment with confidence and grace.

She loves the training. The workouts. The strategy. The challenge. The competition. She leans into it with determination AND joy — and that joy has taken her further than most people ever get.
Remember her name — Brianna Millwood.
I’m telling you now, you’ll be hearing it again as she keeps showing up and breaking records. The world better get ready.

What This Means for You — Yes, YOU

Her journey reminded me — and I hope it reminds you too — that success isn’t just about talent or luck. It’s about alignment, mindset, and how you choose to show up when things get uncomfortable, unpredictable, or brand new.

Whether you're building your real estate business, launching a new offer, returning after a season of rest, or simply trying to hit consistent goals — you’re going to find yourself on new stages. In unfamiliar territory. In pressure-filled moments. And those moments will test you.
But they’ll also transform you — if you let them.

How to Reclaim Joy in the Journey

Especially When You're in the Building Season 🛠️

Let’s be real:
There are times when real estate is slow.
Clients ghost you.
Marketing feels like shouting into the void.
Your content isn’t hitting.
Your pipeline dries up.
You start to question whether you’re even called to this.

And that’s exactly why we need joy — not as a reward at the finish line, but as fuel for the journey. Here’s how to intentionally build joy into your business:

1. Celebrate small wins 🏆

That one lead that responded? Celebrate it.
Got through your follow-ups today? That’s a win.
Posted consistently for a week? Give yourself credit.
Joy grows when you recognize progress — not just perfection.

2. Create rituals that ground you

Start your day with worship, music, or a 10-minute walk.
Light a candle while you check emails.
Make your workspace beautiful.
Pray over your business. Speak life over your day.
These small shifts bring peace and presence into your process.

3. Do something in your business that lights you up 🔥

Love home décor? Share staging tips.
Enjoy talking? Record a quick video.
Feel energized by people? Call a past client to check in.
Not everything needs to be hard to be effective.

4. Build community and ask for support 🫶🏾

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. That’s why we have REB.
Talk to your broker (me 😄), check in with your team, book a coaching call.
Support isn’t a weakness — it’s a power move.

5. Remember your “why” and visualize the outcome 🏡

The lives you’ll change.
The freedom you’re creating.
The example you’re setting for your family.
The legacy you’re building.
Let that vision give your daily tasks meaning.

Final Word: You Deserve to Feel Good While You Build

You can be in a building season and still experience joy.
You can be learning something new and still feel proud.
You can feel challenged and still feel called.
When we align our actions with purpose, success follows naturally.
I want you to show up this week knowing that you belong — in this business, in this industry, on your own version of the big stage. Whether you're a seasoned agent or just starting out, you’ve got something valuable to offer.

So this week, I challenge you to:
  • Fall in love with the process again
  • Lock in on your August goals
  • Show up like you belong on your own podium
  • Remember that others are depending on your light
  • And most of all, have fun along the journey
